Was having one of those moments where I was thinking, “y’know, I really need to blog something”. I try not to force myself to blog, or give myself any time constraints in between posts, but in the midst of my Mon-Tue weekend (I now have to work Sunday nights too, after pulling two 12′s in a row. Bummer.) I can’t let it all go to waste without posting something.
I do have a couple Major Thoughtful And Revealing Post Projects that I’ve been working on, but they require a particular thought and concentration mode that I’m just not able to access right now, so they’ll have to wait for later. In the meantime, I was pretty much waiting for the blogging muse to bite me.
Then today, she bit me. Hard.
I got left with AJ while the women went out and about for the afternoon (Christmas shopping?). As AJ launched into his two-minute wail about being left behind, I turned on the TV to find something to distract him with.
And all of a sudden, there it was.
Blog manna from heaven. Right there on my TV.
My first reaction was “oh my GOD this can’t be real!”
My second was “BLOG FODDER AT LAST!!!”
I’d like to think that the creators of this, uh, game (as well as the marketing execs) just had a sick sense of humor and wanted to see what kind of reaction they would get. Yeah, that’s gotta be it.
Because I’m having a hard time getting my head around the idea that someone is serious about marketing a game about a dog’s bodily functions to the children of the world. Then again, maybe I shouldn’t be surprised.
Yes Dear’s classic reaction? “I thought our parents taught us that DOG POOP was something we were NOT TO PLAY with!”
UPDATE: Apparently, Goliath Games has a knack for, uh, interesting games. Another exhibit, not quite as eyebrow raising as the above sample, but representative of the mindset of this company, I guess.
What have we come to as a people if this is a game for our children? It’s almost unbelievable!

Let’s face it: children are always amused by bodily functions. In fact, adults seem to be amused by them, too, as evident from the many gas jokes people make. This company just happened to fill the niche.
Personally, I never have found it humorous, but that’s just me
